The Amazing outcome of Networking

The Amazing outcome of Networking

What does it mean to network?  I googled ‘networking’ and here is what I found.

  1. connect as or operate with a network.
“the stock exchanges have proven to be resourceful in networking these deals”
    • link (machines, especially computers) to operate interactively.
      “networked workstations”
    • interact with other people to exchange information and develop contacts, especially to further one’s career.
“the skills of networking, bargaining, and negotiation”

We all do it, some intentionally and some without really knowing that they did.  But what happens when you actually take the time to think about the people you know that should be introduced and connected?  I love the part of the network definition above that states “interact with other people to exchange information and develop contacts, especially to further one’s career”, I would add “and to further a cause”.

A few months back I met Laura the mastermind behind the Bluebee Pals!  Actually, she was introduced to me by a friend, Helen, that I originally met through social media networking, specifically a facebook chat group for those interested in great educational apps! Helen and I have since met in person;  at the 2015 American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) conference in Orlando!

A few years back, also on social media I met Jodi, from Geek Club Books We are lucky to live close by geographically so we have had the chance to meet in person too!  I love the cause of Autism Awareness that the Geek Club Books promotes.

I bet you can see where this little story is going!  I had a thought, Jodi and Laura should meet! Two women entrepreneurs that have such passion for what they do. Well that’s a little hard to do when one is on the east coast and the other on the west coast.  So, an ‘e-connect’ was on the horizon and a soon to be blossoming collaboration between the two!  What’s an ‘e-connect’?  It’s my little saying to connect people via email, facebook messaging or other social media means.

Because of  the collaboration between Jodi and Laura, Bluebee TeeVee has introduced the first episode called “What is Autism?” You can view this fabulous webisode here.

I leave you with this…..

Do you know someone that should know someone else?  Take the time to network and share contacts so that we can all make this world a better place.
